As part of the Egyptian petroleum sector’s plans to develop its human resources, and in line with the state’s strategies to enhance the economic, social, and environmental dimensions in Upper Egypt, Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, witnessed—during the Egypt International Energy Conference and Exhibition (EGYPES 2024)—the launch by Assiut National Oil Processing Company (ANOPC) of the **Operational Capacity Building Program for newly graduated engineers and technicians in Upper Egypt**.
The program includes comprehensive training and qualification activities for young graduates, focusing on building the capabilities, skills, and expertise required to carry out operation and maintenance works at the **Hydrocracking Complex**.
The agreements and contracts related to the implementation of this ambitious and pioneering program were signed between Eng. Mohamed Badr, Chairman of ANOPC, and Eng. Wael Lotfy, Chairman of ENPPI, Jean Schommler, Regional Director at DNV, and Mokhal Remy, Chairman of Alliance Training, on the sidelines of **EGYPES 2024**. ANOPC had previously signed the operation and maintenance contract with EPROM during **EGYPES 2023**.
The program includes integrated training and qualification tracks, starting with a package of basic theoretical and practical training programs in English language, computer skills, health, safety and environment (HSE) fundamentals, and soft skills. This is followed by specialized and technical training packages across various disciplines, culminating in advanced training programs that cover all operation and maintenance aspects of the new complex.
The Operational Capacity Building Program for newly graduated engineers and technicians in Upper Egypt is considered one of ANOPC’s ambitious initiatives, reflecting its economic, social, and environmental role within the Upper Egypt community and its corporate social responsibility. The program contributes to enhancing both the human and material components of the local community and provides a new source of well-trained and qualified workforce from Upper Egypt to support employment in the Egyptian petroleum sector.
